Best Label Printer for Poshmark and eBay

best label printer for poshmark

Hello! I’ve been reselling clothing on eBay and Poshmark for a few years now and I wanted to share what’s worked for me.

So, what’s the best label printer for Poshmark and eBay?

These printers are the best label printers for resellers selling on ebay or poshmark. They're the easiest to use and will simplify your shipping process and allow you to spend more time sourcing new inventory. #reselling #resale #ebay #poshmark

I recommend buying a DYMO label writer 4XL if you can, but if you don’t have the funds or you’d rather buy a multipurpose printer, then I’d recommend a laser printer. Just don’t get an inkjet!

Here are a few more details:

Get a DYMO 4XL if you can, but you don’t have to.

Shipping labels don’t have to be a pain to deal with. The reason so many resellers have a DYMO 4XL label printer is because it’s the most convenient way to print labels and ship your eBay and Poshmark orders. The reason why many people are hesitant is that the DYMO only performs the function of printing shipping labels. It’s a thermal printer and all you’ll need to buy for it are the labels for it to print on. You won’t need to buy need any ink to use your DYMO, because it uses heat to create the image instead.

The DYMO is honestly the best printer for Poshmark and eBay but there are valid reasons to consider using a laser printer instead.

In a nutshell, you won’t be able to print out a normal document with this printer – it isn’t multipurpose. If you’re a beginner reseller, the DYMO may not be worth the investment immediately. If you sell full-time, it’s definitely worth picking up.

If you aren’t getting a DYMO, get a laser printer instead of an inkjet printer.

This will save you money on ink. Massively. (Not compared to the DYMO, but compared to an inkjet printer for sure.) You’ll be buying a larger cartridge, but it will last you a long time. Laser printers use significantly less ink than inkjet printers. For printing shipping labels, a laser printer is a better choice than an inkjet.

  • Laser printers are less wasteful
  • Inkjet printers are better for documents with more detail or photos
  • Laser printers print text sharply and more quickly than inkjets, but you’re limited to printing in black and white
  • Startup costs will be slightly more with a laser printer but the ink cost savings will quickly add up
  • Laser printers require less maintenance than inkjets. I haven’t had to clean mine once yet and my silly Canon Pixma (love it and hate it) needs cleaning every month or so

I used the Brother HL-L2300D for two years before upgrading to the DYMO 4XL. And I still use it for printing jobs unrelated to reselling. I’ve had several laser and inkjet printers throughout college and young adult life and this one has lasted the longest. It’s also pretty affordable at well under $100.

I couldn’t justify buying a single-purpose printer in the beginning, especially because the business I was working on required me to print documents regularly. I needed a “normal” printer. If you’re in the same situation, that’s ok!

You’ll still be able to use your laser printer after upgrading to the DYMO. No need to go all out at first if you don’t feel like you need to! The best label printer for Poshmark and eBay sellers is whichever of these printers best fits your current situation!
